July 2003

Cape jasmine is very famous for its fragrance as well as fragrant olive
in autumn and daphne in spring..
On a very hot and sultry day in the middle of rainy season, the fragrance
of Cape jasmine makes us feel relieved.
I would like to cherish that moment and sensibility to be aware of it.

It was more than ten years ago that I had attended a seminar of Mr. Tetsuo
Gyotoku about the "Power of Sensibility".

In Geland district in Denmark, there were many beautiful lakes and forests.
Every winter, wild ducks were coming here to spend winter.
An old and kind gentleman living beside a lake began feeding the wild ducks.
Usually, wild ducks start on a journey to the north every spring.
But one day they thought, "We have enough food here. We don't need
to fly a long distance that maybe full of dangers."
The wild ducks decided to settle there.
As they thought, they were peaceful and were very happy.

One day in spring, the thawing waters began to attack the lakes.
Wild ducks can fly and soar for more than several thousand miles.
But what on earth happened to them, they could not fly any more!
While they enjoyed their happy days, they became too fat to fly.
They were annihilated by the floodwaters.

The story mentioned above has some very important lessons.
Peaceful and happy days are very nice, but it is very easy to be caught
in a trap of boredom. A day just like any other becomes dull as ditchwater
without surprises, excitement, palpitations, and itchings.
Can you really laugh at those ducks ?

Think about your daily job.
Do you have the passion, enthusiasm, surprises, throbbings on your job ?
Many people are boring and so attached with their job that they can not be
absorbed in anything but their own undertaking. They pass very dull days.
Most of them are somewhat cool thinking, "My life is mine".

When you drive an accustomed car, you will feel like the car and you are
one. You will feel the steering wheel, accelerator and the brake become
a part of your body. If the bumper of your car touches a telegraph pole,
you will feel a stinging pain.
You activate all of your senses including a six sense without intention.
You drive your car by your senses, not by your head.

You should make all of your senses activate and be absorbed in your job.
There must be many surprises, throbbings, and deep impressions.
Only by having keen sensitivity can true nature and essence be revealed.

"Feeling" is more important than "Thinking".
You make sense of others' feelings, desires, emotions and can also get across
your feelings, desires, emotions to others. After then, you can forget
yourself with something.
Power comes from Sensibility.
Yamashin will treasure Sensibility.

I hope for your continuous patronage and support on Yamashin Filter Group.
Thank you.
