This year's rainy season is very long and it seems not yet over though it is
the end of July.
Everyday, it is either cloudy or rainy. You can rarely see blue skies.
Some people feels it depressing, but some people feel comfortable with
the weather for not getting very hot.
It was more than ten years ago, when I was presented a poster from a supplier.
It was a poster showing "Meigenso" and "Ambyoutan" words.
Half of that poster is drawn in black on a white background. With a round
smiling face, there are several "Meigenso"words written such as be healthy,
it's easy to do, be honest, still young, it's possible, be happy, be beautiful,
enjoy, be rich, ...and active phrases like be bright, be healthy, be submissive,
be positive.
The other half of the poster is drawn in white on a black background.
On the contrary, a triangular angry dark face is shown with "Ambyoutan"
words like it's useless, it's hopeless, I'm busy, it's difficult, it's unpleasant,
I'm tired, it's dirty, I'm too old, ....
and passive/negative phrases like be gloomy, be morbid, be opposed.
For example, right now, let's say, you have 1,000 yen in your possession.
There are some people who may think, "This is just a thousand yen, I can not
go anywhere with this." And there will be others who will think positively like,
"I have a thousand yen, today is a lucky day."
It is said that, "Happiness is felt when the heart chooses it to be.", and I really
agree with this. If you think that you're happy, then you'll feel happy. If you think
you're in misery, then miserable you will be. It is actually deciding with oneself
what being happy or unhappy is.
In the past 10 years, this poster is posted in our family rest room.
My wife, my children and myself, looks at this poster everyday.
There were several times that work so much when I had hard times, when difficult
circumstances surrounded my wife on our family affairs, and when my children
had examinations in school.....
How much our household had been encouraged by this poster !
During hard times and difficulty, there are "Meigenso" words to go by.
Be healthy, it's easy to do, be honest, still young, it's possible, be happy,
be beautiful, enjoy, be rich, ...
Words that will help drive you and make you say, "Now, let's get it on !"
With these "Meigenso" words in mind, I think Yamashin should proceed actively,
strategically, and positively with our business affairs.
