Lotus flowers are very beautiful now and I always enjoy seeing them during my
morning walks. The lifespan of lotus flowers are just four days.
They bloom and close three times over and after the fourth time they fall and wither.
Though they are living in a muddy pond, the flowers are always pure and innocent.
Lotus flowers never get dirty nor corrupted. This is the reason why lotus flowers
became one of the subjects for Buddhist teachings.
The 48th business term of Yamashin closes at the end of this September.
Every year at this time, I prepare a draft for long term and short term business
plans while asking opinions and advice from others.
Every year at the beginning of September, we hold meetings for this business plan.
At the meeting, I explain the business plan to all Yamashin members including
other participants and I ask for their support and cooperation.
Needless to say, targets and results are seldom agreed.
Sometimes, achievement is too much or sometimes it is not reached.
That is why the plan is worthy of use in actual business !
Thinking about the difference between goals and achievement is very important.
Sometimes, you can identify market needs or customer requirements from this
relation. If the target is achieved too much, that means the plan was correct.
You have to take measures for promotion or acceleration to get more fruits.
If the target is not achieved, you have to take countermeasures.
Whether the target is achieved or not, to take measures according to
the result or situation are much more important for a company.
I believe the business plan is indispensable for a company as the axis for its future.
Yamashin would like to be just like Lotus flowers.
In the hustle and bustle of the business world, through hardships and struggles,
