I have been to the U.S. and Europe this October.
During this season, the surrounding hills were ablaze with autumn tints.
Autumn colors at small U.S. towns were very nice, but a maple tree
with scarlet-tinged leaves at Nobel Park in Stockholm was marvelously
beautiful more than words can express.
In the middle of the wide field, that maple tree stands solitary and yellow
colored leaves were scattered around it.
From a distance, it seemed like a spotlight was turned on the tree.
Of course, this trip was not an excursion for viewing scarlet maple leaves,
the main purpose was to explain and discuss about our business plans to our
staff at oversea's subsidiaries and to visit our main customers.
With foreigners, there are several difficulties that arises during negotiations and discussions.
Race is different, language is different, each country has its own culture and
customs, so the only way to get across what you want to say is to take courage,
be frank, and have a completely candid talk wirh them. Don't care a bit what
they say about you !
If you speak nothing because of a language barrier, how other people can
understand you?
Being silent in a meeting loses the meaning of attending such meeting.
By any means what you have to do should be done !
Using hand gestures and body language, if you have to convey it, you must !
That serious force can be the prime mover of comunication.
Also, as human beings, everybody has his likes and dislikes.
Strangely enough, if you think he is a likable, pleasant, agreeable person for you,
he also thinks you are a likable, pleasant, agreeable person for him
If you hate a certain fellow, he tends to hate you.
Human relations are like mirrors that can make copies of one's feelings and
thoughts.
Preferably, it is better for us to avoid meeting certain persons we dislike,
but in the real world, this seems to be very difficult.
It is inevitable to mingle with others to keep up with life, relationships between
suppliers and buyers, superiors and subordinates in a company, teachers
and students in school, you and your neighbors in a neighborhood... etc.
We may be patient in handling these relationships, but as a matter of course, endurance
and patience has its limits.
In case of inevitable meetings with a person dislike, it is important to concentrate
on the good points and advantages of this person and try to think this person
a likable, pleasant, agreeable for you.
Thinking so, may make this person agree with what you would like.
If you think "This guy is a good guy.", he would readily think "you are a good person."
By doing this, even human relations will take a favorable turn.
I am happy to say that the relationship between each employee in Yamashin are
extremely fine. And also the relationship between subsidiary companies of Yamashin
group are fine too.
