("THE START OF A NEW FISCAL YEAR")
|
April was the start of a new fiscal year and in many ways it felt like a new year.
I had full of the spirit in April.
We held an initiation ceremony.
This year ten people became YAMASHIN's employees and all faces were fresh expressions.
When I think of it, they are same age of my son!!
"In life, you have good times and bad times, but you have to make the best
of it and always have positive thinking."
You will make your own life.
I wish to them always keep this in mind for life.
After several days, I visited Seoul, South Korea.
Mr. Cho, who was YAMASHIN Korea's manager, established his new company,
called "NEXTCORE".
YAMASHIN-FILTER CORP. closed our Korean office and will now sell its filters in Korea through
NEXTCORE. After a ceremony for the establishment of his new company, Mr. Cho explained his
business plan to everyone in attendance.
He requested the comment to me, so I commented about whom I have deep respect for Korean proprietors,
Mr. Chung Ju-Yung. He was the founder of Hyundai Group.
In 1915 when he was born, Mr. Chung was elder brother into a poor family of 6 boys and 2 girls,
I bet, when he was young, he would not think he would become the founder of Hyundai Group.
Rather, he must have just chased his realistic goal, such as " eating meals until stuffed" or
"driving a car like that". He had flaming obsession and passion.
From this, I wish that Mr.Cho have the same tenacity, and pour passion into management of NEXTCORE.

In the middle of April, we held a "YAMASHIN's Partners Meeting".
We focused on building better relationships "An inspiration and expiration" with our suppliers to be more
competitive in the marketplace. We wish to strengthen our open two-way communication and cooperation
with our suppliers as this will only solidify our global approach to working with our suppliers.
At this meeting, Mr. Hara, director of manufacturing, explained to all in attendance YAMASHIN-FILTER
CORP.'s current situation and our plans for the future. Afterwards proved to be very a very enjoyable time
and successful celebration and we hosted our suppliers at dinner. It is not the logic that strengthens relations
of trust with our suppliers. It is the real communication from of our hearts that we need to have with them.
Everyday interaction is the key. I look forward to seeing our improved relationship to our suppliers in the future.

April 2007 YAMASHIN-FILTER CORP.'s
PARTNERS MEETING
|
Two days after the Partner's Meeting, I flew to Ayuttaya, Thailand and visited Rojana,
the future site of our new factory, and attended a ceremony commemorating
the start of construction on our second factory in Thailand.
Two ceremonies, Buddhist and Brahman were held. The 9 priests and monks sat
opposite from the delegates from our company while they conducted the ceremony.
Since it was still in midsummer, it was about 38 C (100F), so you can imagine the relief
I had when there was some breezes that came on a day that was that hot. The ceremonies
were beautiful, lighting candles and burning incense during the Buddhist and offerings for the
Brahman ceremony. After the one hour ceremony, we moved to the hotel where we conducted
a luncheon with all who were involved on this new project.
The factory's builder was also decided to be Toda Construction with competition. I know we
request to build new factory to Japanese company, the cost will be more expensive.
We would be able to advice people in construction site what / how we want when we want it, if
we build a factory in Japan. however, I think it would be hard to do so in Thailand, because they
have different custom and culture. In order to fill the cultural gap, we need extra energy and know-how.
I consider the extra cost to have Japanese construction company in Thailand as the cost for the
energy and know-how. In the near future, this factory will be YAMASHIN's main factory, so I ask for
Toda Construction's cooperation as the project moves forward.
