Nov 2007
A relationship of mutual trust is very important

At the gates of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China YAMASHIN-SHANGHAI's Wang Yimin (Left) and Myself

From October 12th, 2007, I departed on a worldwide tour of our customers.
My trip went as follows:
Tokyo→Cebu→Bangkok→Beijing→Shanghai→Rotterdam→Brussels→Chicago→Tokyo.
I have visited all of our manufacturing facilities and our sales offices.

In Cebu and Bangkok, the temperature was well over 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees Centigrade).
In Rotterdam and Chicago, the weather was near freezing during the morning and evening hours.
While I was in Beijing, I caught a cold which became severely worse.
But I have completely recovered during the long flight from Shanghai to Amsterdam.
While sipping medicine and tea I realized that although business is important, health is sometimes more important.

Because of insufficiency of communication between overseas facilities and head office, we usually tend to find their faults and end up yelling "What do you think you are doing!!!" many times.
However on this trip I found everything in order and that everyone at all facilities are doing their best.

At Cebu factory, they are working on double shifts at night to meet increasing orders.
Japanese staff are also taking turns alternating between working night shifts and day shifts.

In Thai, they plowed under with daily work, improve the production field for our new factory in near completion.

YAMASHIN Shanghai staffs attended a conference dealing with construction machinery in Beijing, where they are conducting filter demonstrations and towards the end of this year, their schedule is packed with conducting genuine filter seminars all over China.
In YAMASHIN Europe, the internal control process is steadily improving and business activity is also very succsessful.
In YAMASHIN America, a major project several years in the making is moving forward.

As in "Toyota Way", they use the‘Three Reals Philosophy’(Sangen shugi), which means Go and see by yourself and understand the situation.
This is the most important basic way of thinking. Proverb says "Seeing is believing".

When I visited the scene, I found that everyone is trying to do their best.
Though there are still many problems they have to solve but they are thying their best.
Nothing is improved or solved by blame and slander.
What is important is to understand "Every staff is doing their best with all one's might!" and believe that he/she is someone to be depended on.
I think a relationship of mutual trust is very important.

The colleague reap the harvest of someone's mistake, and triumph over adversity each other.
How great strategy and policies we have, it is useless without the practice.
I feel that both of policies and practices are the basic requirements for a strong company .

Everyone is doing their best with all their might!!!!
This tour was a very successful tour.

I ask for your continuous suports to YAMASHIN-FILTER.

Sincerely,

Atsuhiko Yamazaki
President
