Selection of housing and filter by fluid
1. Conditions required for housing and filter selection

1.Fluid name:

Judgment of the conformity about the quality of the material of housing and filter

2.Filtration flux:

Judgment of piping caliber and the number of required filter

3.Working temperature:

Judgment of the conformity about the quality of the material of housing and filter

4.Fluid specific gravity:

It uses for resistance calculation of piping.

5.Fluid viscosity:

It uses for calculation of piping resistance, and the check of resistance of filter
6.Fluid pressure: Housing selection from resisting pressure intensity
7.Permissible pressure loss:  Setup of early pressure loss
8.Piping caliber:  Diameter of line piping Form presentation for connecting
9.Filtration accuracy:  Removal performance of filter demanded with filtration line
10.Filter:  It selects from 1,2,9.
11.Regulation to apply:  Design criteria of the housing at the time of necessity

2.Example of model selection of housing and filter

1.Fluid name:

Pure water

2.Filtration flux:  4m3/hr (67 L/min)
3.Working temperature:  20Ž
4.Fluid specific gravity:  1
5.Fluid viscosity: 1
6.Fluid pressure: 0.49Mpa
7.Permissible pressure loss: 4.90kPa
8.Piping caliber: 1.5B
9.Filtration accuracy: abs.5 micron m
10.Filter: -  -
11.Application regulation:  Nothing

First, the diameter of piping is selected from flux.
In this case, since there is specification of the diameter of piping,
it is checked to housing selection whether it is satisfactory.
In the following table,
it checks that the crossing of the diameter of piping and flux is contained in A and B line.

Next, the number of filter is set up from the recommendation flux of filter.
Since fluid is normal temperature in pure water on condition that 1,2,9,
MWP-040 which are filter made from PP cheap in price are selected.
The use number of filter is determined from the flux of filtration(67 L/min).
MWP recommendation flux: 20L - 25 L/min
10" x 3 used : Flux per one ΰ 23 L/min
Pressure loss at the time of 23 L/min ΰ 1.96 kPa

Next, the pressure loss of the housing when using ESH-031 housing is calculated.
Since calculation of housing pressure loss is difficult, a formula is omitted.
The average flow velocity of piping and orifice are searched for, and resistance of housing is computed.
By the calculation result in these conditions, it becomes as follow,
Pressure loss of housing + Pressure loss of filter = Pressure loss in early stages of filter and housing .
1.96 + 1.96 = 3.92 kPa

Selection of housing and filter will be performed by YAMASHIN, if your operating condition is taught.
Also in the case of the fluid of high viscosity, various solvents, the optimal housing and filter are proposed.
