*Summary of the filter rating(efficiency) Test

 

To measure a filter’s rating, we use test equipment based on the below drain circuit. Inside the storage tank are spherical, latex beads that are dispersed and pass through the filter. During that time, samples of the liquid before and after the test filters are taken through openings. By measuring the number of particles captured of a certain diameter, we can calculate the efficiency rating for that particle size. 

   
 

   

*Formula for calculating filter rating(efficiency)

  Through the automatic particle counter, we can measure the number of particles of each diameter and use the below formula to calculate the filtration efficiency.

*Absolute Filter Ratings

 

As for the above data, the particle size that is more than 99.9% captured has an absolute rating. For the above filter, the filter’s absolute rating is 7 microns.

 

 

 

For the fiber pleat and membrane filters, they have a high filter rating even just above the diameter with an absolute rating.
