Summary of the pressure drop vs. flow rate test

 

To measure the flow rate vs. pressure drop, we use test equipment based on the below circuit drawing. Water or another fluid adjusted for the customer’s viscosity passes through the filter. By measuring the pressure before an after the test filter, one can calculate the filter’s pressure itself.

Formula for calculating pressure drop vs. flow rate

  Measure the amount of pressure upstream (IN) and downstream (OUT), and calculate the pressure differential through the below formula.
 

  *It is necessary to subtract in advance the pressure differential caused by the filter housing.
