Factories that manufacture pharmaceuticals must strictly regulate their differential air pressure to prevent contamination and other problems. There are two factors that affect differential pressure: the building’s exterior (external wind pressure etc.) and the building’s interior (for instance, the opening and closing of doors). Some of the advanced systems used to control differential pressure and ensure product quality are external wind suppressing technologies, room-pressure regulators, and airtight doors.

Air Handling Unit

An Air Handling Unit (AHU) consists of air blowers (fans), heat exchangers (coils), humidifiers, air filters and a casing. AHUs are primarily used in large air-conditioning systems.

Types of available air filters

This filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

This long-lasting, pleated filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

This filter has a medium collection efficiency for particles with a diameter less than 5 μm.

Fan Filter Unit (Ceiling)

This device takes in and pressurizes external air using a fan, then passes it through an air filter before supplying it to the space.

Types of available air filters

This filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

The collection efficiency is 99.97% or more for 0.3-μm particles.

Air Shower

This device uses high-speed purified air to remove dust and other particles adhered to the surfaces of people and objects before they enter the clean room. This prevents contaminants from entering the controlled clean space.

Types of available air filters

This filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

The collection efficiency is 99.97% or more for 0.3-μm particles.

Air Curtain

This device uses the flow of air to prevent insects, dust, and other foreign material from entering a space in cases where sanitary conditions must be maintained but the opening cannot be fully closed due to the entry and exit of people and the transportation of goods.

Types of available air filters

This filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

This filter has a medium collection efficiency for particles with a diameter less than 5 μm.

The collection efficiency is 99.97% or more for 0.3-μm particles.

Exhaust Treatment Unit (Factory Dust)

This device uses an air filter to remove fine dust particles emitted from the manufacturing machinery in pharmaceutical factories, then vents the air into the atmosphere.

Types of available air filters

This filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

This long-lasting, pleated filter removes particles with a diameter of more than 5 μm.

This filter has a medium collection efficiency for particles with a diameter less than 5 μm.

Positive-Pressure Ventilation Fan

While a typical ventilation fan can experience reduced air flow due to effects from the external environment, positive-pressure ventilation fans use static pressure to avoid these effects and maintain constant air circulation. They are primarily used to ventilate large volumes of air in places like restaurants and factories.

Types of available air filters

Designed to repel insects.

Air-Conditioning Duct

AC ducts are channels that move air to and from an air conditioner.

Types of available air filters

Designed to repel insects.

External Air Intake

The intakes are equipped with air filters to ensure that clean air is inducted to the rooms from the ductwork.
